  • Biological regulation of nutrient cycling processes in terrestrial and wetland ecosystems.
  • Influence of agriculture on ecosystem services (e.g, water quality, carbon sequestration, nutrient retention).
  • Controls on microbial biomass and activity and interactions among plants, soils and microbes that affect nutrient cycling.
  • Controls on nitrogen transformations in soil..
  • Influence of earthworms and other soil fauna and on nutrient cycling.
  • Interactions among grazers, productivity, and ecosystem processes in grazing lands.
